The original Model 1882 proved popular enough to continue it's use in the Swiss military, despite the fact that the Luger had been in service for many years. The Model 1882 had the advantages of being easy to load and operate, they were easy to field strip and they were inexpensive. However, by the end of the 1920s, many 1882 revolvers had reached the end of their service lives. As a result, steps were taken to upgrade the design. The Model 1889/29 possessed a simplified design and strengthened frame. Over 18,000 were 82/29s were produced. The pistol grip of this revolver is made of bakelite material.
This revolver is in overall excellent and functional condition.
